With both tanks controlled independently and their oils filtered separately, you are guaranteed the longest oil life possible and have the added benefit of choosing to operate a single tank when demand dips. With inboard oil drainage, emptying the tank is made simple by draining an internal bucket rather than attaching an external drain pipe to filter your used oil.
